Because I cannot afford a subscription, this is the best I can do for my friends.It would be really, super nice to wake up in the mornings to at least one deviation comment...or even a fave. I can live with just faves. Right now I'm getting near zero comments or faves. My poor, poor deviations. They need friends. I'll try to upload new deviations this weekend once I've finished my Art assignments. It's really hard to work on anything new when I have so many assignments due tomorrow. I'll probably scan those and upload them first, so that you can see what I'm doing in class. It would be interesting to see some reactions to my Art assignments.
As a Holiday treat for all of my wonderful Watchers, each deviant on my Watch List between now and January 1, 2008 will receive something very special from me, because I care about my friends. :]
My Holiday Wish List
1. Stuffed Animals (of any size and type). I collect stuffed animals and right now I have about 20-30 of many different sizes, from small beanie babies to a four foot bunny rabbit that is multicoloured. He lives in my room, but he's my grandmother's really. I don't mind doubles, but that's not likely to happen. :]
2. A sketchpad with thicker paper. I usually get the cheap kind with the printer-thick paper.
3. Coloured Pencils. I had a fifty pack of Crayola that my mom got my mom got me for Art class in September, but this horrid girl Jordyn stole some of them and now most of them are so short. >.<
4. An iPod Nano in Green. 4GB. All I have is a laptop and a CD player.
Here's a little update. I didn't want to fill out an entire new journal just for this, but I thought my wonderful friends here on dA would enjoy knowing this: I will be uploading my work from Art this weekend. Today is my last day for December, so I will have plenty of time before school starts again in January. I have a few projects that I can scan, plus a few photographs. I have less than two weeks of school left until I graduate, so I'm excited. I'll be throwing a Christmas/CHannukkah/New Years/Graduation party on the 29th for my West Virginia friends to attend, and I'll upload those pictures to my scraps when I finally wake up from that. I'll be so worn out by then. Well, now you know! :]

There are those who have the time and talent to pursue their dreams as artists and those who just plain suck. I'm not mean, but it's the truth, the llama made me say it. [link]
The first thing is, submit more work and probably try to get your gallery looking as organised as you can. Now that they've introduced the folders thing it makes it so much easier to categorise stuff...and I think that usually makes a gallery more beautiful and attractive and therefore more likely to be browsed through.
The second is to participate as much as you can, which I mean, I know you already are with plenty of comments etc which is really wonderful. And as far as I'm concerned your support means a very great deal. But I found that my traffic increased substantially when I started participating in clubs and forums, or even in the chat rooms.
I try to dedicate like one session a week to posting stuff to clubs, so that I can get my work shown to a broader audience and I often go into the thumbshare forum and post thumbs in people's threads...when they are asking for certain types of deviations. And I started my own thread which helped me gather lots of new images for features and gave me a chance to be exposed to other people's work and vice versa.
And thirdly, do the features, which you have pretty much already started and that's fantastic! It would definitely be more productive if you were subscribed but I know it's hard if you don't have the money or a credit card etc.
You really just need to get your name about the site more. Because there are so many people participating on this site, it's really hard for a single person to have their work found just from their own profile, that's why the clubs and forums are so effective I think! And if you can't do journal features, you can still do news articles can't you? (I'm not sure whether you can do them being unsubscribed or not, but I imagine you can!)
And just keep up the great work liaising with people, the way you have with me. You're a lovely girl and you will definitely get more appreciation, it's just a matter of getting your name out there.
